Please see this video first, titled"life after death by powerpoint" but by using a powerpoint slide by Don Mcmillian
Well, why do I love this speech? Well I guess you love it too! Its funny entertaining and engaging. This is because the speaker is very confident, prepared and knowledgeable. Actually, in fact, everything he did made the speech entertaining! He speaks to the audience, not just facing the screen, he does not make unnecessary movements, he speaks with emotions and he uses hand and body gestures at the right time.
These factors all contributes to becoming a good speaker! Confident and well-prepared! There are still a lot of factors that are shown here that shows that Don Mcmillian is a good speaker, but I am not going to state all of them. Some of the examples that shows that are that during the speech, he speaks loudly and care-freely without hesitating and with a lot of expression. Usually a lot of people will laugh at their own jokes, but they don't know that this would spoil the whole show. If you have realised, the speaker never laughed much in the whole speech and he would speak quickly right after that and pause. This is because speaking quickly would turn the whole atmosphere into a exciting one, pausing to let the audience laugh and not to overlap his voice with their laughter.
So, basically, that is how by following these small things you could become a good speaker.

#5 something interesting I saw today
Today, I saw something I had never seen before in my life. It was pretty amazing seeing it and I was impressed too. So what is the ting which is so interesting? When I got onto bus 36 this morning, I immediately saw this 2 men "talking". Well, what was so interesting about that? They weren't really talking though, they were using sign language. They both seem to be experts in it as they were doing quick and precise movements with their hands. As I was curious, I sat behind 1 of the man and watched the "show". I had never seen anyone use sign language that well before! Both of them seem to be tone-deaf though as when they "laughed" and "giggled" nothing came out of their mouths. It was interesting watching them "talk" although I could not make out what they were talking"about though. The whole thing seem like a old black-and-white movie, where things go so quickly and there is absolute silence. I kind of got the impression that the whole world had gone mute too. Everyone was also staring at them too, not angrily, but with curiosity.
Well, unfortunately, the "show" did not last long as my stop was already here and I had to alight. I took up an interest in sign language after witnessing this incident. I have learnt a few basics and I am going to continue(that is if my interest in sign language lasts). Why? So that I would not get scolded for "talking"too much(just joking)!

#4 2 problems encounted in home economics and how I solved them
You would probably laugh at me if I told you my problems, but anyway, I would love to share it. So, what is this problem actually? Well, its about baking cookies. Ya, go ahead and laugh at me:). The procedure would sound easy, but it wasn't for me......
Frankly speaking, this is not my first time making cookies and not my first time encountering the same problems but the first time I solved it! When I started, I added the wrong ingredients already! We were suppose to ass all the ingredients into separate bowls, but I added all of them in 1! As the home economics teacher did not want me to waste ingredients she told me to continue. Next was mixing, at first it went well, but later, when I added flour, it turned all lumpy. That was when I realised that I added too much flour and the mixture had turned dry. As I remembered the teacher telling us to add milk if the mixture was too dry, I added the milk, and it worked! Problem number 1 solved.

As I remembered the teacher telling us to add milk if the mixture was too dry, I added the milk, and it worked! Problem number 1 solved. After a whole lot of mixing, me and my partner proceeded to making the cookies. The teacher wanted our cookies to look round and smooth, but ours wasn't. when I shaped it, it looked oval and had a lot of gaps in between the dough. This made it look ugly and unappetizing, so we had to redo them. This was when I encountered problem number 2, how to shape the dough into nice round shapes using teaspoons(which was VERY difficult). Initially, I wanted to use my hands but I was stopped immediately by the teacher, who said that using your own hands was unhygienic. So I had no choice but to continue. After 20 minutes of shaping the doughs, I realised that if I pressed down the dough with a teaspoon while it was being carried in a teaspoon, it would create a nice smooth shape. By doing that, rolling it into a ball(using teaspoons) became much more easier. Problem number 2 solved.
Fortunately, after that everything else went smoothly and the good news was that I and my partner got 14.5/15 which was good. Well these are the only 2 problems I encountered and solved. It might seem small, but it wasn't for me, and the whole class too!

#3 One of the most tiring days of my life
Today was one of the most tiring days of my life! Well, not because of homework, but because of my dragon boat training! Why is it so tiring, you'll know later......... We did not really go to the gym at 3pm though as it was unfortunately occupied by the track and field people, so we had no choice but to wait till 5 when they finished. So, we did some warm ups to past the time. 1st warm up, 3km run, 2nd warm up 60 crunches and 30 push ups(which had already tired me out). Only after that we went to the gym.
I was (obviously) excited and enthusiastic about it as I had never went to a gym before and that this would be my 1st time. We saw the seniors do some examples on those gym equipment before letting us try. It was not what I expected.
It was worse( because its more tiring) than the warm up actually as most of the things we did in the gym involved tremendous strenght and endurance. I was surprised the seniors made it look so simple! They could actually carry 30++ kg of weights and lift them up! When I tried doing that, the weights just would not budge! I could only carry 20kg of weights! This had made me feel inferior to the seniors and the juniors, which some could do better than me.
I had never done such strenuous activity in my life until now! Although it was only 2 hours of physical activity, it was overwhelming! Well, after the training, I started to get cramps on my legs, which was extremely painful, and I started to feel soreness throughout my whole body too!
But despite the pain and suffering(just an exaggeration) after the training, I am looking forward to the next one. Why? I don't often get to work out so I would take this training as one of them, and besides, its fun! And the best of all, it is beneficial.

#2 A day without homework
What happens when you go to school? Study, learn and get homework, right? But today was missing something. Guess what is it? No homework! I don't know whether to feel happy or sad though, most students would feel overjoyed upon hearing this. But I have no idea why, I don't feel that way. I feel bored instead(don't ask me why!)! Well, what is a weekday like without homework? Happy? Bored? For me, 1 word, boredom. Imagine coming home with nothing good to do. No interesting programns on TV, no computer games, no one to talk with, no one to play with, no HOMEWORK! Homework keeps me occuppied all the time. It doesn't matter which type of homework, as long as it can make me make good use of my time, I will do it. And after you finish doing it, you get that amazing satisfying feeling in you. Its like you have accomplished something great.
Doing homework is such a common thing in my life that I am already used to it, its becomes a habit, a part of my life. Without it, I would have a strange feeling, niether sad nor happy. Without homework, I have nothing to work on, I have nothing to do, I have nothing to improve on, nothing! Without homework. nothing is the only thing I can do at home(that only applies to me).
Homework is a source of entertainment for me now. Its like computer games, where you enjoy playing it, or in my case, doing it. The amount of homework also changes your view of it. Too much, it will turn into stress, too little, it will turn into entertainment and fun. I know this as I have experienced it before. Example, during PSLE, you will(obviously) get loads and loads of homework, how would you feel? Stressed. But what if you don't? You will get that guilty feeling, which urges you to do study(or work). This is the reason why I felt strange during a day without homework. And I think many of us actually do!

#1 moments spent alone doing something that I enjoyed
The only moment where I could do something I enjoyed ALONE, is during school holidays, so I would treasure every moment on those days. Why school holidays? Well, when there is school, there is homework. When there is homework, time will be taken up. When time is taken up,I will have less time for myself. Well ,why not during the weekends? 1 reason, tuition. Well, in school you get homework, you learn something valueble, then you pay school fees. Guess what? It goes the same for tuition, it takes up time. During the school holidays, nothing is on on weekdays, thus giving me a whole load of time, and I am not going to waste those precious time. So, what do I do on those "precious"moments? I learn new songs on the piano(which I rarely got to do)! As I said earlier on(the previous post), I am a classical music lover and I am not into pop music, so I would learn songs composed (mainly) by Beethoven, chopin and liszt. Those people are my favourite composers! I would spend hours learning those songs everyday until I could play it perfectly and nicely. Well, learning to play classical pieces isn't as easy as you thought you know? Its even harder to appreciate it!
Learning new piano pieces isn't the only thing I enjoyed, listening to them is just as great! Most people don't like classical music because they find it "old-fashioned". But I don't at all! Instead I find it relaxing and enjoyable. They are songs that express feelings so clearly and beautifully that is doesn't need lyrics! I would listen to relaxing pieces such as nocturnes, preludes and occassionaly sonatas. These music can also act as a stress-reliever, works best if you have too much homework!
Well, these are the things that I love to do during my free time. It is a form of relaxation and entertainment for me especially after doing a lot of work. I spent these moments alone and I would appreciate every second of it. Well, having a little time for yourself is rare after all, isn't it?
This is one of the classical pieces I enjoyed. Liszt transcendental etude No.5 or simply "feux follets"

Welcome!
Hello, this is my blog! Yay! As you know, this blog would be dead soon(thus the name), so , look out for future posts as they are (very) rare. This blog is basically for homework(even this post is for homework!), thus it would be updated constantly until 29 Jan 2011, so, please COMMENT!
Eh...this is my first post(really) and my first time creating my own blog, so don't blame me if this blog is not like one. And by the way I am a classical music lover,so don't expect my blog to have any contemporary songs.
P.S. Dont comment too much though, cause I won't answer it or comment.
